About Our Neighborhood
Glover Park is a small, quaint neighborhood slightly north of bustling Georgetown that offers a backdrop of the United States Observatory, National Cathedral and Number One Observatory Circle - the mansion our Vice President. Savoy Suites Hotel is also near prestigious Georgetown University, Georgetown University Hospital, George Washington University and the elite American University.
Named for Washingtonian Charles Glover, an influential 19th century banker and philanthropist, who is credited with the creation of Rock Creek Park, Embassy Row and considered the father of the National Zoo.
Side streets surrounding our hotel are lush, green and adorned with porch-front row-houses built in the 1920's and early 1930's. Easy access to downtown Georgetown makes Glover Park the ideal location for residents and visitors alike. Glover Park has also become home to hundreds of educators, university graduates, artists and professionals from bordering Georgetown University, George Washington University, American University and Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts.
